Description
Prunus Lusitanica is an evergreen shrub or small tree that is native to southwestern Europe, including Portugal and Spain. It is valued for its dense foliage, attractive flowers, and versatility in garden and landscape settings.
The foliage provides a lush backdrop and can create a sense of privacy when used as a hedge or screen.
In early summer, Prunus Lusitanica produces small, fragrant white flowers in upright clusters called racemes. These flowers are followed by small red or black fruits, although they are generally not significant ornamental features.
This species of Prunus is adaptable to various growing conditions and can tolerate both full sun and partial shade. It prefers well-drained soil but can also withstand some moisture. Once established, it is relatively drought-tolerant.
